S-town Podcast Script

“I’m embarking on an investigation at the behest of an Alabamian horologist.” So states Brian Reed, the announcer of Shit-Town serial, based on the American life. The title of the serial was suggested by B. McLemore via email which was an Alabamian horologist, a specialist in the art of making watches and clocks. It was advertised euphemistically as “S-Town, where Reed suspects, a gruesome murder has gone unsolved.”

The season was related to a murder mystery. By keeping on listening to John’s accent, amble from subject to subject, roving in and out of past, related to math, literature, science along with everything and anything on his mind. The language of the podcast should be informal in order to preserve certain contextual features. S- town productions has shaped something in the vein of the Southern Gothic because that was the only way to describe the plot which trails John. The fact of this S-town was that Brian sounds like he belongs at a NASCAR rally and appears, through his actions, to be somewhat of a phony, only ingratiates him to the listener.

There is a plenty of things that should be revealed first. Season first episode shows the introduction towards the origin of the story along with the person who was the basis of this serial, John McLemore. It shares a story of a murder which happened in a small town in Alabama which has been recognizing as a ‘Shit Town.’ This story convinced Brian to initiate the play. In chapter one, Brian ends visiting John. He learns about his oddities, which number was quite sufficient and realizes his ‘anger’ for his hometown. John describes a location of a school as ‘Auschwitz.,’ which was a building which looks just like a Nosferatu within the first episode. He founds himself as being a person who stuck in a small town where he lives with his mother. A murder that took place on the scene makes John think that it was done by a prominent member of a local family, which tried to cover it later in the play. With his investigative reporting skills, John hopes Brian can unearth the true story behind the committed murder. John believes that Briann character because of his talents and uniqueness (just like a building or an elegant garden maze) was amazingly noncommittal when they get down to rubbing details of the murder (“S-Town Podcast”). In this episode, Brian’s character begins to ask if there was a story that was needed to dig up.

On the other hand, there was a person who had significant information related to murder; it is the one who married to Skylar. Brian in this episode asked Skyler about anything that she knows about the particular murder. She replied with an answer that his husband was a killer as he straightly told it Skylar. The suspected killer wants chargers to be dropped and claims self-defense. Brian asks why none of the events made it into the newspapers; she replied, ‘This town has a way of forgetting information and hiding information. If somebody doesn't want people to know about it, then it won’t be there.’ In the end, there was a background theme of entire series which leads into the point-of-rest of this murder inquiry.
